Aikido at Hawks Hill previously known as Troy City Aikikai, began in March of 2016 in Troy, NY. Justin Coletti Sensei built the dojo to what it is today through humble beginnings and a strong membership; first holding classes in a local yoga studio then moving to a local YMCA. With the indispensable and selfless help of a dedicated membership, Coletti Sensei then built the dojo in the converted barn that we train in today. It is located on his family farm, Hawks Hill. Coletti Sensei truly appreciates and expresses the utmost gratitude to all those involved in the development of Aikido at Hawks Hill. The spirit of the dojo could not have been fostered without the energy and life given by all members past, present, and future.

Aikido at Hawks Hill is dedicated to the transformation and harmony of the individual through physical training in the Japanese martial art of aikido. Through consistent practice, one can expect improved physicality, sleep quality, mental clarity, and sense of wellbeing. However it is not to say that the practice is easy; the dojo will challenge the ability of each individual whether physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually. Through perseverance, patience and commitment to oneself, the individual can overcome these challenges in order to cultivate a more harmonious and peaceful existence. It is expected that individuals remain devoted to their practice as well as bring an eager spirit and open mind to the dojo. The dojo is a refuge from the chaotic day-to-day and a place for polishing oneself into a beautiful jewel.
