Yes. Acupuncture and mental health counseling are separate licensed services with separate records, scheduling, billing, consent forms, portals, and privacy practices.
Acupuncture and Chinese medicine are provided by Justin Coletti, L.Ac. Mental health counseling is provided separately by Lisa Decker, MA, LMHC.

Can I receive acupuncture and therapy at Hawks Hill?

Yes. Clients may receive either service simultaneously or separately. Clients who choose both services may also have the option of collaborative care where Justin and Lisa work together on a coordinated treatment plan for you with joint Mind-Body sessions if needed. Does Justin and Lisa automatically share information?

No. Communication between providers is not automatic. Justin and Lisa only coordinate care with written client consent. Any communication is limited to what is relevant and appropriate for care.

Can acupuncture and therapy happen during the same appointment?

Acupuncture and mental health counseling are generally scheduled as separate appointments with separate policies, billing, and documentation. However clients can begin collaborative care and receive treatment through mind-body sessions to which acupuncture and mental health counseling are conducted within the same appointment.

How do I know which service is right for me?

If your main concerns are physical pain, injury recovery, muscle tension, sleep, digestion, hormonal balance, or whole-body regulation, acupuncture or Chinese medicine may be a good place to start. If your concerns are emotional stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, relationships, burnout, life transitions, or patterns you want to understand more deeply, mental health counseling may be the better fit.
Some clients benefit from both. If you are unsure, you may contact us with a general inquiry, but please do not include sensitive health information in the website contact form.

Integrative Health Services at Hawks Hill is located on a private 90-acre farm at 36 Cooksboro Road Troy, NY 12182, serving Troy, Albany, Brunswick, Bennington, and surrounding rural communities. Secure telehealth therapy and wellness consults can occur anywhere in New York State. You do not need to be a resident of New York for telehealth therapy; you only need to be physically located in New York at the time of your appointment.

What should I avoid sending through the general contact form?

Accepted Answer

Please do not include sensitive health information, mental health history, medical records, trauma details, medication information, or urgent clinical concerns through the general website contact form. This ensures HIPAA compliance.

Instead send general inquiries and discuss in greater detail with your provider at your sessions. From there, please use your provider's approved forms of communication. If you do not know what they are, contact your provider directly.

Existing therapy clients should use the appropriate secure client portal. If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911, go to the nearest emergency room, or call/text 988 for free, confidential crisis support.

What is collaborative care?

Collaborative care allows clients receiving both acupuncture and mental health counseling to have a more connected care experience. With written consent, providers may coordinate around relevant themes such as stress, sleep, pain, trauma, emotional regulation, lifestyle patterns, and nervous system support. Collaborative care is always optional. It is not automatic, and each service remains separate in terms of time of appointment, billing, and relevant information shared.
